Quinoa Porridge

This is just a basic recipe for Quinoa Porridge – I love the maple syrup and cinnamon combo, but I’ve also tried it with different spices, fruits, and nuts. All good. Recipe adapted from Closet Cooking.



  • 1/2 cup quinoa
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon pecans, chopped



  1. Bring the quinoa, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and maple syrup to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until tender… about 15 minutes.
  2. Mix in the blueberries, add more milk to taste, and top with the pecans.
